Influence of adaptation on sound-localization cues

Parallel to the behavioral experiments on adaptation we are studying neural responses. We already saw that neurons in the central nucleus of the inferior colliculus (ICC) respond less to a second or test stimulus following a first or reference stimulus, if the inter-stimulus interval is below 800 ms (Figure). We are now testing also neurons in the external nucleus of the inferior colliculus (ICX), and we are also asking how ITD tuning is influenced in this situation. Our future goal is to obtain double recordings from two or more sites in IC.
